| A Note From Beth and Neill
Sharing Our Loss With You As many of you know, we lived with and cared for Beth's mom over the past 3 years. She passed away on March 3rd. This last Friday we celebrated her life with a few close friends and family. It was a beautiful little gathering, she would have loved it. She always said, 'A few good friends, good food and a few laughs--what more do you need?" We shared all of these at the gathering. Over these three years we learned much while caring for Mom. With her help we learned at an experiential level the precious value of creating intimate connection with the people you care about. This time with her reinforced our awareness that honesty, self responsibility, and self reflection are essential for creating this quality of connection, no matter what the relationship. And that with a commitment to healing old wounds, creating closeness and making sure everyone's values are considered, miracles do happen. Mom will be missed, but her memory will live on through the people who loved her, and there were many. These came to include the wonderfully amazing care-givers of San Diego Hospice, who over the past two years came to be part of our family too. We were very moved to see how deeply they cared for and respected Mom. We were deeply touched that every one of them who possibly could do so came to say farewell at the memorial service. The time ahead will be a very interesting journey for us. In many ways we are in new territory now. Throughout the many years of our relationship we've always had someone else to care for in addition to one another. We look forward to our new "dynamic-duo" adventure with open hearts and |
In Loving Memory
From the time Mom moved in with us she was very interested in what we do, asking questions and wanting to understand many of the principles that we teach. Right before she passed, we told her that we were starting our own internet radio show. She was so excited. She didn't quite understand the idea of an "internet radio" show, but she knew she liked the way it sounded. "If you can help people enjoy their relationships more I think it's a wonderful idea," she said. Our first show will be dedicated to Mom and some of the more important things we learned over the past two years with her. Please join us if you can. Until next time. . . With love and a commitment to supporting you and helping create a world that works for everyone, Beth and Neill |
